what better way to enjoy a pipe than to smoke one while researching them. Anyone have good media (books, podcasts, articles, etc) about pipes in history particularly from colonial America, English seaside, taverns, or pirates (yes, I said it). Thank you all!

My Lady Nicotine (ebook) pops into my head immediately - I've got a few more URL's bookmarked on my PC at home, will toss them up when my work day is finished; ebooks or .pdf files for the most part.
Of course, anything to do with Holmes, by Tolkein, Moby Dick, etc., also draw heavily on pipe-smoking; as such, the tomes are best enjoyed amongst swirling clouds of blue pipe-smoke.
This site provides a pretty intersting read on Sir Walter Raleigh, although it's not really set up to print, I would recommend it if you can drag a laptop or tablet to your designated smoking area.
