I received this pipe as a gift recently. I believe it is a Cavalier shape (could be wrong) and I’m unsure what type of wood. It was purchased from an antique store in Sweden. I can’t find any clear markings or labels to identify. I think the bowl is either threaded or pushes in to the stem.
I love the shape (new to me) and I guess I might just have to display, but I’m curious if there’s any way to get it smoking again?
There are some obvious condition problems, the biggest of which is a metal screw in the base of the bowl (pictured below). I haven’t yet tried to remove, but it’s clearly keeping the bowl attached and blocking the airflow. Also some chips and some signs of previous repair around the heel.
Any tips on what might be possible in terms of repairs and cleaning would be very welcome.
