In the past month that I have been smoking, my number of relights has started going down (or at least its not every 5 minutes or so), but I have noticed that if I'm walking and smoking I can smoke the entire bowl with only 1 or 2 relights and its usually near the very bottom. This happens with all 3 of my pipes and I pack each the same whether I'm smoking inside or walking. Any ideas as to why this is so? Only things I can think of is I smoke a bit faster when walking and the wind helps keep it lit. Curious if anyone else has either a similar experience or if its simply the outside conditions that help the smoke.

Relights... may be needed after a lapse in concentration...

But, they aren't the end of the world.... Unless!... you're in a Slow Smoke Competition.
I advocate a good tamping technique if you want to smoke to the bottom with only a Char-light and True-light. (Others will disagree.)
Otherwise, as long as you're not keeping your lighter or a box of matches in your hand to light after every puff...

"It ain't no big thang." :D

I don't always clench while walking, usually for a little bit then hold for some. Figured it was most likely breathing into the pipe while clenching (which I've started doing while inside and it seems to help) and the wind going by.
Thanks for the quick responses.
