Recent W.Ø. Larsen Acquisition - "Super Grain" Large Billiard

I pulled the trigger this weekend on this W.Ø. Larsen 'Largo' billiard. It seems this one was probably made by Former circa 1970's for W.Ø. Larsen.
'A very large classic Danish billiard of ODA capacity, cut and sandblasted by the great Hans "Former" Nielsen in his early days as factory manager and head carver for Larsen. Its tall bowl is counterbalanced by its long shank and hand cut taper bit. One might wish that the shank were more symmetrical about the long axis, but it remains a handsome and powerful pipe in superb condition.'

It looks like a bold pipe and when I magnified the screen, I can see that the stem thins out quite a bit, just just the way I would like it.
I'm sure that you will enjoy that one for years to come.

I just held a Former WO Larsen pipe for the first time this evening (met NJ pipe friend). I was impressed with the pipe and he said it was one of his favorites (and he has a rack of some really great pipes). Enjoy it!
