I'm 2/3 down smoking my Charlestowne Cobbler. I'm on a quest to ensure to myself that Maltese Falcon is the very best pipe tobacco I can buy.

I popped the tin about a hour after the mail delivered my latest haul. Rubbed some out and let it rest for 20 min.

My wife is not a fan of the tin note but doesn't mind the smell while I am smoking. From my perspective the aroma is very strong compared to how light it is on my palate.

This stuff is smoking extremely cool which I like. I get less flavor and much less creamy notes when I compare to the Falcon.

I felt I was getting a little nic hit and let it rest a few minutes after 2/3. This was strange to me as I was smoking Maduro when I switched to pipes from cigars. Full disclosure though I only had four hours sleep over the last two days, worked a 12hr night shift and have been getting some things done around the farm while consuming cheap beer today ( I'm exhausted).

Of interest was a great salty flavor I have been getting since the last relight.

Maybe later this evening I will pop the top on the Westminster. I'm thinking with some age the QN would be interesting but so far I like The Falcon.

Love that stuff. If you find it growing on you, would also suggest Hearth & Home White Knight & Black House as well as several of the Peretti English blends such as Royal and Tashkent. I reach for these 4 more than QN, though I do like it very much.

Thanks for the input, I will reference this..all blends I have never tried.

I just lit a bowl of Westminster. I'm afraid it's going on my "nice" list faster than QN. I popped the tin and loaded right up. Only got Lat on the brief whiff I gave the tin.

After firing it up it's a noticably sweeter blend than MF or QN. Not far in but really like it so far. I'm getting a gentle spice of some sort that is really good to me. I wonder if it's ginger or what.

Oh man, I'm digging this Westminster. I hope it ages well. If I don't get bite from it I will be a fan.
