Quick, advice needed on eBay bid!

I've really wanted a vintage Grabow Royalton bulldog, the new style is too plain, and I've found this:

I bid up to $35, but I've got another bidder determined to outbid me. How much is this pipe really worth? Is the other guy on to something or what?

It's hard to tell without closely inspecting the pipe, but it might have a cracked (split) shank that was banded -- which would explain why the stamping appears to run off the end of the shank. Personally, I wouldn't spend $40 for a used Grabow unless this is a "must have" part of a collection.

It is already too high for a Grabow, unless as Cortez describes.

That was my feeling. I was willing to pay up to $35 but more than that too much for a Grabow in my opinion.

Agreed to all comments. If it is the "Missing pipe to your collection" that is different, but value wise, it is at the max now mate
