I own some ten of Charatan pipes.Dating Chatatans isn't easy but possible, so the problem isn't that. The pics shows a Charatan probably made by Barry Jones when he worked for Lane before to join James Upshall. This pipe is N° 21 of 300 made for celebrate the Charatan centenary.Guess production started after 1963 and stopped just before Lane left the brand.Well i have this pipe unsmoked with the original Blue casket, which it could be the value?

I'm no expert, but I seem to remember those centenary pipes going in the $150-$200 range? But, your shape is unique from the ones I've seen and unsmoked with case? Whew, I'd add another $100 or so to that one. Looking forward to reading comments from more knowledgeable members. Someone here has info on a Chartan club, those guys would have an answer. That is a lovely pipe!

I was with a Charatan collector (1000 pieces) Tuesday evening in NY, but I didn't get his contact. I did give him my card, if he makes contact, I'll check. That is a beautiful piece. Are you looking to sell it or just determine a value?
