Question Regarding Savinelli Collection 2000 and 9mm Filter

I'm thinking of purchasing this Sav.

It was drilled for a 9mm filter, so I guess it was originally for the European market. I smoke several Savinelli's sans filter but believe they are 6mm.
The question is will this pipe smoke well without the 9mm filter? Perhaps an adaptor is available like the 6mm sizes?

SP is offering a 9mm to 3mm adapter. I note that the Sav 9mm balsa filters work quite well.

Vauen makes a very good 9mm adapter. I have used them with several pipes. They smoke fine but a thorough cleaning requires removal. Not a big deal. I expect they would work well with this Savinelli, however, it isn't a sure thing. There can be slight variations that cause the adapter not to fit properly. My 9mm pipes with the adapter mostly sit. That Savinelli is a handsome pipe.

I usually don't use the filters on my 6mm Savinellis. I'm concerned that the pipe will smoke hot if I try to go without a filter on a pipe designed for 9mm.
I would pass but I really do like the lines on this particular Collection release.

Savinelli balsa wood filters only absorb the moisture but don´t impare the taste of the smoke.

My understanding is that if you don´t want to smoke with a filter you simply don´t insert one and

start smoking. What is the adapter supposed to do inside the stem? :? :?:
