hi everyone ive been smoking a pipe for 7 years now hand ive heard about pipes that have stems that aren't supposed to come out. the question is, is my pipe one of those or is there a problem?

p.s it doesn't matter really its more a curiosity.

p.p.s its the one in the picture.

much thanks

lol i know i cant seem to get my pic up on my posts.

the stem doesnt seem to want to budge i think that the nickle band may be biting it.

never mind its still a bloody good pipe lol

thanks for the reply

Wait until the pipe is completely cold and then apply gentle but firm pressure twisting in only one direction. I have managed to get stuck stems out by putting the pipe in the fridge and allowing the difference in contraction rates to work. Once out coat the tenon with pencil lead to lubricate it.

The only difference I recommend over Aurther's advice is put it in your freezer for 20 or 30 minutes.

Is it this one:

The stem on mine was a bit tight too but now it has loosened up. Let it cool down properly after smoking it before attempting to remove the stem.
