When you buy in bulk and have it stored, when you want to take some to smoke do you take what you would smoke in a week? or do you jump into it every morning and what you think you will smoke in a day? im thinking about buying tobacco in bulk so i dont have to go to the store as often but not sure how often i can go into the jar that it is stored in.

I break my tobacco down into mason jars which hold about 4ozs each. That way I only have to open one at a time and the others can keep aging.

I to store in seperate smaller jars so some can stay sealed, but i was just wondering. how does opening a jar from the cellar stop the aging? Isnt 3 year old tobacco 3 years old? And if opened and then resealed for 2 more years, would make 5 year old tobacco?

As that link will tell you, by opening the original tin you disrupt the maturation process at a cellular level... Some things can't be replicated, so you can't restore the original conditions in your new jar. At best, it'll have to start all over again; at worst, the aged tobacco will start to decline.

I only buy bulk 2oz at a time, so it's fairly fresh when I get to smoke it, also I don't smoke any VA's, so I don't have to worry about aging them.

English and Aro's are what I smoke.
I'm with rickpal, keep it in small jars...
