Question about BBK Swiss Farm Pipes/ German Pipes

Hi all...

Does anyone hae any experience with BBk pipes or what might be called Swiss farm pipes. I think BBK went out in the 70s. These pipes tend to be dark rustics with metal windcaps. SOme have small ornamental flowers or stags on the bowl area...look kinda cool and wanted to know how they actually smoked. ANy ideas??
Also, the old style german pipes that have a 6 to 8 inch vertical drop stem and a ceramic bowl...are these decorative wall hangers or a pipe worth smoking?

I have one BBK, close to what you decribed. It does not smoke well inside with the wind cap closed. If you open the cap it smokes quite well. I would think if it were smoked outside where more air is stiring it would smoke ok. :puffpipe:

I have an assorted herd of those type pipes. Most smoke quite well.
