Does anybody have an idea why SPC seems to have dropped many of Barens standard tinned blends out of their portofolio, same goes for Amphoras, to name a few, Golden Extra, Symphony and Amphora Original and Kentucky blends?
Didn’t Mac Baren and Sutliff get gobbled up by STG? I’ve been out of touch for most of the summer, but last Winter and Spring, “Mac Baren and Sutliff blends going away” threads were all over these pages.
Sutliff Tobacco (Mac Baren & HH) was acquired by STG.
Some of their profile is being produced now by STG blends like St Bruno, Capstan and others.
There was a list on here of what dropped and what was retained.
If I can find it I’ll come back and post it here.
There was quite an over supply at the end after the closing for months, not all was panic bought up. So you were just seeing leftovers, or if it’s made by STG now, it’ll be back baby.
The full list of what remains after the MacB/Sutliffocalypse:
The worst part is that the only Sutliff they kept was the absolute shite of the aromatics, killing off all of their blending tobaccos. Utter foolishness.
