EDIT: Fixed Capitalization in Title (See Rule 9)

Hey all. Have a quick question regarding a dunhill stamp I’ve seen.

It’s a double patent 119708/17
.5861/12 with a 6

safe to say it’s a 1926 but my confusion is that this particular pipe also has “fabrication anglaise” stamped. I understand this was meant for pipes destined for France
However most of the French stamping a I’ve seen don’t have English patent #s, rather they have a “brev.no”

could this be someone trying to fake a dunhill or does it sound more like an out of the norm stamping for a special situation? Thanks in advance

If it were mine, I wouldn’t be worried about it being a counterfeit. A mistake is more likely, if it even was a mistake. I currently have a Tanshell up for sale here that is stamped as a Root Briar ?. And that’s the second one of that error I’ve owned. Considering the huge number of pipes Dunhill has created, their error margin is very slim, but at the same time, that slim percentage will still account for a large number of pipes out there!
