I had 4 high quality pipes that I liked to smoke, but did not like the look or length of the black, dated stems. The first three are shown in the first photo here. The fourth was a Tsuge bamboo which I sent off without a before photo. I let Tim Beaumont of Papa Bear Pipes in Ohio pick the new stem colors he made, and he did a great job (Pearl white on the first artisan pipe; then red, then blue on the Savinelli Extra; then yellow on the Tsuge, which was the biggest change in my eyes. The original black curved stem was hideous.) Tim also cuts the most comfortable mouthpieces I’ve ever clenched. He just has the measurements of the button down perfectly.
First photo is of 3 of the 4 ‘before” pipes, with short black stems….then all four individually with their new stems. The last photo has a 5th pipe, the short bamboo apple in the middle where Tim opened the draft.
