Just got two new Kaywoodie pipes, really hate buying on eBay never know what your going to get. The grain on these is awesome. Both have Push stems and no shape numbers so can't date them and the marking is on the stems of both and the clovers are black in a white dot anyone able to help.

If you post pictures I'll help you date them. If the clovers on the stems are bordered in white but not solid, you probably have a newer version. Push stem versions of Kaywoodie are usually very old, or fairly new.

Solid pipes. A forum member here, @greywoodie sells them at his shop greywoodie.com, so does wvsmokeshop.com

Also pipedia.com is a great resource for any pipe questions, photos, or dating help.

There's a couple top photos of the clover branding on the stems. The nomenclature of both pipes is just Handmade over Kaywoodie on left side of shank and imported Briar on right side of shank.

This is an example of what I determined to be an export Kaywoodie. It’s an everyday Supergrain, Ward Cleaver size and style standard sized billiard, with a push stem.

Due to the excellence of the briar selected for this pipe, no Kaywoodie stinger was needed, to deliver what Kaywoodie advertised was “Kaywoodie taste”. It is an excellent smoker, constructed carefully.

The mystery is a four digit number 5151 should be Pre War, but it reads Imported Briar.

Very interesting indeed! I just picked this up on ebay: a 5122 Super Grain with Push stem!
