Since there are some punkers and former punkers on here I thought it'd be fun to share some must see punk rock movies. I'll start the ball...
Suburbia (flea from FEAR and RHCP played a minor role)

Sid & Nancy

A clockwork Orange (not about punk but I've yet to meet a punker who hadn't seen it)

Decline of western Civilization (The Original, not "The Metal Years")

SLC Punks (The 2 main characters reminded me so much of my best friend and i it was scary)

Dudes (With Jon Cryer, flea and others)

the Great Rock and Roll Swindle

Return of the Living Dead (It's Punks vs. Zombies!)

Oh wait... even better is The Wizard of Oz, and also Willy Wonka (the original).

I'm serious. Those films will mess with your head once you break out the ole waccy baccy.. 8O
Of course if your into the hard hallucinogens (shrooms, LSD, etc...), then best possible would be Alice in Wonderland, and Fantasia.
Then again, I GUESS  you can be a punker without the drugs.. but c'mon it's what fightin' whitey is all about. right?

SLC Punk is awesome, I really enjoyed 24 Hour Party People too, not quite 'punk' but it might end up in the centre of a related venn diagram.

I was punk when punk wasn't cool.
Not sure if they are considered "punk" movies, but....
Hell Comes To Frogtown (with Rowdy Roddy Piper, no less)
Straight To Hell (loaded with a punk cast)
A Boy and His Dog (with a young Don Johnson)
Zacariah (with Don Johnson again)
5th Element
Vice Squad
Escape From New York
The Wanderers (the original one)
probably more if I fire up a few stagnant brain cells....

this thread got me thinking...

Billy Idol doing a Lou Reed / Velvet Underground cover. Cyberpunk was really the best Billy Idol, in my maladjusted opinion.
Baskerville, not sure who made the original post, and it is a forgivable sin, although I am with you. A lot of us have a past, and some of us have a present. I don't mind it being alluded to occasionally, but the straight up discussion ought be saved for an appreciative audience.

I hear ya portascat. How about "They Live" also with Roddy Piper? Not necessarily punk, buut did carry an anti-establishment vibe. Strange Days is a good cyberpunk type movie along with Blade Runner and Split Second. All of those had rowdy, crapsack worlds as a backdrop and a punk style to the peoples' clothing and attitudes.
