Pulled The Trigger...Twice (Birthday PAD revisited)

As you all know I get to to go home and get my mail about once a month. Well I was a bit worried about the walls of my Fern being thin as paneled pipes can be known for. I was pleasantly surprised by a huge beautiful pipe.
The Sav is large and thick as well. Both pipes just amaze me.

That Ferndown is a great looking pipe.

Very nice! The panelled one makes me think of the 70's for some reason (not in a bad way), not sure why.

Dave I have bought a few hundred dollar pipes on ebay during my ongoing PAD. Only my unsmoked Pete 302 I have been happy with. This Fern will be treated like a lady. Nothing but Va/VaPer's going through either one of these pipes. I am not trying to be a snob at all. I am truly in awe. I think I did a great job picking out presents for myself. ::

I like both of those pipes. Great classic looks. You were worried about the wall thickness on a Ferndown?? Every Ferndown I have ever seen has nice thick walls which is why they smoke so great. The problem with owning a Ferndown, is you are going to want another because they smoke so great. The Sav should also be a great smoker, it does have nice thick walls as well, I also like the shank embellishment. Congrats on your latest purchases, I like your taste in pipes.

Nice score. Let us know how they smoke. You will not have any problems with the Ferndown. I am curious about the Sav, I have never owned one.

They both smoke remarkably well mrenglish. Very cool and smooth. I couldn't be happier. I love the bit on the Savinelli. It is a very comfortable pipe to smoke.
