Okay, I've ordered this good pipe, big stuff for me, but I haven't a clue how to pronounce the name,

and my some-time Italy touring wife isn't sure either.
Ser -- is this "sir," "sare," something else?
Is it Jah-cop'-oh, or jah'-coe-poe? Or something else.
Any real Italian speakers out there? Or someone who knows the lingo from their pipe retailer, dependably?
I think I know how to say Savenelli, Cassano, Larocca, and Luciano (from Lucky, the mobster), but not this. Help!

I did a little research and found that the letter J isn't used in the Italian language so when it appears the word is typically of a foreign origin. Jacopo is apparently a Jewish variant of Jacob. Ser appears to mean TO BE as in the essence of. It makes sense that the J in this case is pronounced as a Y; especially since it is of Jewish origin.

+1 for the Y sound. I know a man named Jacubus (Jaco for short) and it too is pronounced with a Y.
