It has been there for a while, but I am recently interested in checking out the reverse calabash pipes.

I cannot help sharing this design by Werner Mummert, a German pipe maker. There is not much further exploration in form, but rather an attempt to reduce it, to a pipe's bare functional dimensions with precisions.

It's chamber size is perhaps equivalent to a Gr. 2 size bowl. It is more than just a pipe design, I think it can go well with some other exhibition items in MoMA in NYC.

Werner is my favorite pipe maker who I do not own a pipe from. One day... one day.

This pipe always reminded me up those push up - pop up ice creams, lol. Very cool though.
I have a few reverse/inverted calabash pipes and I love them. It provides a cooler smoke as the engineering design suggests but, for me it mutes the flavor a bit with most blends. This is not neccesarily a bad thing because I've found blends I didn't enjoy that I loved in a RC.

I like the daring aspect, but I can't really say that pipe stimulates my desire to buy one like it and light up some Va/Per or English blend. I'm not sure why not.
