Well, I'm coming up on my 2000th post and I didn't really know what to do for it, so I figured id post my little haul from Gatlinburg. I also figured I'd do it for my post #1984 since that's my birth year. Yeah, I know, I'm still a youngn'! Anyway, here it is;
2oz. GB "Smokies Smoke-Eaze" a medium English.
1x 100gr. Mac Baren "Roll Cake" dated Jan. 2007.
1x 100gr. Mac Baren "Dark Twist" dated Nov. 2012.
A 2 bowl sample of some Lane "LEO" that Richard from the Burlier was smoking.
And last, but not least, a new Zippo pipe lighter!
My wife and I always have a great time in Gatlinburg. It's my favorite place to walk around and enjoy my pipes, have some great food (and drinks)and just relax! I always have a great time talking, and having a smoke with the eccentric guys at the Gatlin-Burlier! There's another B&M up there that I've gone to for a few years now called Smokey's, but I don't think I've ever bought anything from them.
Anyways, I hope this will suffice for a 2K post, even though I'm not quite there yet! You guys are great, by the way! I look forward to many more posts to come!
Dan
P.S. Never mind the messy table! That's where I've been putting some tobacco into jars, and I got a little messy!

Does anyone have any opinions on other Mac Baren tobaccos? I've had Plumcake and Bronze Cube and found both of them to be OK, but nothing special. So far, I'm really liking the Roll Cake and Dark Twist! I figure I'll probably throw in a few tins of other Mac B blends on my next TAD order. I know I want to try the London Burley, as I've heard good things about it, any suggestions would be appreciated! I'd really like to try more of their coin/roll cake type blends.
This is my actual post #2000 by the way!

Love that Gatlinburg, the good mountain air, and the lights across the valleys. Went there with my family when

in high school, and later with my late wife (remarried now, maybe my wife would like it too).

@mso, you should definitely take her! Gatlinburg is beautiful year round, but after thanksgiving they have the Festival Of Lights, and the whole town is lit up, including Pigeon Forge! If I remember correctly, Dollywood alone has several million lights! October through January is my favorite time to visit. My wife and I go at least once a year, usually around this time.

Thanks guys!
@Roth, Ira (the owner) is a very knowledgable guy, as a matter of fact he has a Ph.D! He's written several tobacco related articles and a couple of books. Both he and Richard are very good blenders as well! I've never smoked one of their house pipes, but they do look well made. They also have some really nice older Dunhills, as well as some older Petersons, Caminettos, L'antras, and others. They are a little high on them, but they're willing to come down on them. They had an unsmoked '89(I believe) Dunhill Red Bark sandblast for $350, they offered to sell it to me for $275 but I didn't have the funds. They are all great guys, and they're willing to share their knowledge with anyone! Ira and Richard were both giving lessons to some guys who came in and bought their first pipes, they even gave them some free tobacco to start out with!
