Hello all. I'm in the process of gathering all my materials, but I haven't seen much on how to make things easily portable. Most of the "tobacco pouches" I've seen are something like a small purse and I've seen posts from people who seem to carry large kits with four or five pipes, which seems a bit of overkill if I'm only away for two or three days. Putting a pipe or two and some pipe cleaners in a pocket is easy enough, but what do y'all do to port your tobacco?
I knew a guy in college who would bring everything in a wooden box stowed in his backpack, but I remember that seeming a bit pretentious back then and would like to find more practical and down to earth solution.

I just use a single-pipe zipper pouch. The pipe side can accommodate an average-sized pipe, and the other side holds a pouch or ziploc of tobacco, cleaners, and tamper.

For short trips, I use a 6" "make-up" bag that I got at Target for a dollar. Holds a pipe or two, a zip-lock of tobacco, my lighter and tamper and a few pipe cleaners. My travel kit is an LLBean personal organizer toiletries bag, medium. Has 5 small compartments for sundries, 3 separated places to stow loose pipes, and fits 4 tins in the largest main compartment. Cost $25.00. You can get one in leather for $99.00. Has a hook on I too, so I can hang it on a nearby nail and access it like a cabinet.

I got a soft side pencil box like the one at Amazon, wrap 2 pipes in my jewelers cloth and the fit is perfect, add a tamper, lighter, pipe cleaners and zip bag of baccy and off you go

Thanks guys! All great ideas. Another option I ran across was from a guy who uses a zippered passport holder to carry a small ziplock of tobacco, some cleaners and a little Bent Bob pipe. It's good to know there are some inexpensive choices out there.

A nylon shaving kit from the drugstore, a small one, also does the trick. Often these have a big zippered compartment and two small zipper pockets on the sides. These easily hold several pipes, a few baggies of tobacco, pipe cleaners, a pipe nail or two, and matches or lighters, everything you need. Also, since it is a shaving kit, it doesn't tempt thieves much.
