Hi,
I have a Savinelli Leonardo da Vinci series Wing and the silver is dull and tarnished. What do the pros use to restore the shine and luster?

TIA,
Tom

Tom,
Is this your pipe ?

Looks like the silver applique had a matte finish to begin with, so no "shine and luster" there. If perchance it has tarnished, I would carefully work with a Q-tip and either commercial silver polish or a non-fluoride toothpaste ( i.e. Tom's of Maine ) and try not to get any on the wood.

I use SILVO on all my silver mountings, it's from the same company that makes BRASSO. Like rcstan said, be careful not to get any on the briar.

I bought a silver polishing cloth on Amazon. Needs no creams or pastes and works great on slightly tarnished silver.
But it only worked so-so on heavily tarnished silver (i.e. so tarnished it looks more like dirty brass than silver). For severe cases I heard you can use baking soda with water, turn it into a paste.

Cape Cod Metal Polishing Cloths. Also works on stems, but you'll have to rub 'em thoroughly with a paper towel afterwards.

rcstan asked "is this your pipe" and showed pics of the exact pipe that I have.
So, if the silver had a matte finish to begin with, then I'm flipping out for no reason!
Thanks for all the replies.
