Regarding a comment Funn made here: http://pipesmagazine.com/forums/topic/richmond-pipe-show-2010/page/2
"Could kick myself for not meeting the others in attendance on Sunday. have to wear a name tag next year."
This got me thinking that maybe we should develop some type of ID for PM.com members so we can pick each other out of the crowds at shows.
The PM.com Tommy Bahama-style shirts are only for identifying "employess" such as Bob and I, so those are off limits.
I was thinking perhaps a "pin-on" Button as that could be made big enough to notice and be cost effective. I am open to ideas though, so please let me know what you think.
Also, no promises on this, but we are giving it serious consideration.

A really easy way would be a PM.com Embroidered patch , perhaps in varying sizes (S, M L) that could be applied to a garment of our own. Fairly cost effective and serves the purpose. I personally wear hats but others do not, some wear T-shirts, others do not. A simple patch would cover all!

I like the way your going fredvegas but I'm affraid the tassle would be a fire hazzard (I could see that thing going straight down my bowl). But hey, that could be another way to pick someone out of a crowd ... "Hey, that guy with his hat on fire is from PM.com!"

Seriously, I think a pin-on is a good option because like flanative said not everyone wears t-shirts or hats. The pin could be on any shirt or hat.

I met a girl working at a grocery store last week that was wearing a "pin on" name tag.It just seemed to be right out there in your face,so I think that would work quite well.

ernest, are your sure what "seemed to be right out there in your face" was not another matching so called "pin on" on the other side?

I think a simple pin on name tag would be the way to go.

Edit: Maybe with our Avatar and Screen name along with our "Real Name"

A real name like mine.... Iwishi Hadanotherpipe. :)
Fredvegas, instead of a tassel how about a propeller?

I was actually talking to my wife about this last night, and I was going to make my own name tag for the vegas show! But I agree that the pin on tag is a great idea!

Fredvegas, ROTF LMAO! Groucho glasses anybody? (Along with the fez & silly walk!)
Zazzle.com produces all kinds of buttons, labels and merchandisng stuff. And I think the e-mag can get a modest piece of the action.

OTOH, a stick-on lapel label that we can print up would work... perhaps with a space for avatars, etc., as pstlpkr suggested.

LOL FV!
Flanative, patches would probably go over big with some of the older pipe crowd. You should see all the vests covered with patches at the shows.
However, I am thinking a pin on so then everyone can wear what they want as far as clothing.
I used to hate it when I worked at a company and it was mandatory to wear the company shirts when I had so many nicer shirts I would have preferred to wear.
Bubba, I most likely will not have a chance to do anything on this by Vegas.

Oh in that case I am going to get a name tag for myself. I am just going put my full name and then put "PM.com Tag: bubbadreier", is that acceptable or would that violate a rule?
