I haven't had the barrel aged but I have had the regular and the Special Reserve. My unsophisticated palate couldn't tell much of a difference between them. I have flavored the original with Buffalo Trace bourbon and that added a nice dimension to the blend.

I have not had the barrel aged, but I really enjoy the regular Plum Pudding. If you like latakia, I cannot imagine any of the Plum Puddings would disappoint. I’d compare the “regular” Plum Pudding to Nightcap, or perhaps more accurately, to GLP Quiet Nights.

I’ve gotten better smokes out of Quiet Nights, but have found Plum Pudding to be more consistent and almost as good as Quiet Nights is at its best. Both of them are really top quality Latakia blends, and the plum-raisiny Perique works wonders with Latakia. Not sure why that isn’t done more often.

Of course if you’ve already had the standard Plum Pudding, you already know.
