I’m not a big social media guy and have never posted anything on Facebook. But if you don’t have an Instagram account you are missing out on looking at some great pipes. I follow over 50 artisan pipe makers and brick and mortar shops on Instagram and it‘s a joy every morning to view their latest creations. I highly recommend it.

The easiest way is to search and tap on any pipe related account like SmokingPipes, GLPease, Jason Patrick, Jared Coles, J Alan, SmithHouse, etc. and it shows who each follows. Recent Master of Pipes JFurman631 is another great one to follow. Then I just pick a few of their choices to follow. All those I follow are listed in my Instagram account @VintageTackle1958.

No, I'll pass. I realize I'm throwing the baby out with the bathwater, but some talented pipe carvers aren't enough to get me on social media. I have too many problems with Instagram. I'm happy to either get contact info from one of you fine gentlemen or pick up their offerings second hand from the BTS sales.

I still go on IG every day but once they screwed up hashtags it became a much less useful place. I don’t use it nearly as much as I once did because of it.

I only look at pipes in shops to see if there might be something I fancy. I have no interest in photos of pipes. Doing so would be a waste of time for me.
