Pipe tobacco on a Cruise Ship?

In a little over a week I'm off on a Cruise (MSC Divina which is an Italian Ship - and I'm just hoping that the stereotype of Italians LOVING smoking holds true..) but I'm wondering if anyone knows whether or not I'll be able to buy baccy on the ship or if I need to go "stocked up"? Last time I went on a cruise I didn't smoke a pipe, so didn't even look...
Also, can anyone recommend any good b&m's in southern Italy, Turkey or Dubrovnik??? :rofl:

def take with you. each ship will be different. only other option would be to contact the company and ask. I know you couldnt on american ships ive been on. also check smoking policies as they may be very strict, like the american ships i have been on.

I just recently went on a cruise (Norweigan) and they only allowed cigarettes to be smoked on board. Also they only sold a limited a akount of cigars and cartons of cigarettes. So I highly suggest you bring your own which is what I did. You can most likely get away with it on some of the top decks or a balcony if you have one on your room. A few years down the road we are going on a cruise for the grand parents 50'th anniversary. About 20 of us in all. I was hoping there is a cigar bar or deck I can smoke on. There will be a bunch of kids in tow but I sure hope I can get an evening smoke in. The grand parents told us that my wife and I will have a balcony suite! Cross your fingers that it comes threw and maybe just maybe I can smoke on the balcony!

I would check and find out if you may smoke a pipe on board. If not, maybe you shouldn't go.

Oh no, I am going with or with out a pipe. My wife's parents are paying for all the kids (us in our 40's) and grand kids to go. Big family thing, NO getting out of. I will check into a smoking policy before going though.

Cigar and pipe smoking is allowed one side only on an outside deck, starboard or port. Usually on your balcony, for sure not in your room. Casino is cigarettes only.
Do check out their smoking policy of the cruise line on their website.
The ships sell some cigarettes, a few cigars and no pipe tobacco, bring your own.

MSC Cruises respects the needs and desires of all guests, and we have given careful consideration to the preferences of both those who smoke and those who do not. In line with global standards, smoking areas are generally fewer than non-smoking areas, but smoking is freely permitted in specified areas throughout the fleet (selected mainly on the basis of increased or modified air extraction).

Smoking is not generally permitted in any food service areas (buffets and restaurants), medical centres, child-care areas, corridors or elevator foyers, areas where guests are assembled in groups for safety exercises, disembarkation or tour departures, public toilets, or in bars directly near areas where food is served.

Smoking in all cabins is highly discouraged, and because of the specific and proven risk of fire, smoking on cabin balconies is not permitted at any time.

Smoking is permitted in several bars on each ship, and on one side (indicated by signage) of the principal outdoor pool deck areas, where ashtrays are provided.

Guests are advised by the Cruise Director and in the Ship’s Daily Program to avoid throwing cigarette butts over the side of the ship, where they could be blown back on board and start a fire."
So I can smoke in my room but not on the balcony??? Makes sense!

The current web page says "Smoking in all cabins is not allowed, and because of the specific and proven risk of fire, smoking on cabin balconies is not permitted at any time. "

It also states "Smoking in all cabins is highly discouraged", so they discourage it, but not forbid it hahaha
I really dbout theyd sell pipe tobacco on board, maybe some OTC blends at best.
Definitely bring your own.

We went on Norwegian Cruise Lines and I had no problem smoking my pipes or cigars. I did have the luxury of having my own veranda but the ship had a smoking lounge and there were no problems there. Bring your gear and have a great time.

This is so old,so I'm not sure if I post here or start thread again. Cruising on Royal Caribbean in March, Jewel of the Seas. Not sure of the smoking of Pipes policy. They used to have a cigar bar, but since the remodel last year, not sure if it exists, Anyone know? Second part... traveling with Pipes, tobacco, and lighters. Can you pack all in check in bags without issues? Probably, not taking an expensive lighter, and for sure not in carry on anything of the sort. Any experience with this, please let me know.
Would love to smoke a pipe at sea! Can't wait. Thanks.

Will you be asking Royal Caribbean for their policy regarding smoking? I suspect they are the ones to ask as policies can change by the minute.

And that is why I refuse to go on a cruise. My sister was a travel agent until just a couple of years ago. Most ships leaving U.S. ports are non-smoking period. Some do have a cigar bars/lounge but at least one of them only allowed you to smoke what you bought in the lounge.

I'd take a few pipes and your tobacco and smoke in port, where you can, being careful not to offend the locals. The chances of finding pipe tobacco you'd want for sale onboard is remote.
