Pipe Tobacco In Iberian Penisula

Hello friends,

I’m looking for some tips on finding pipe tobacco stores with a wide range of brands since it’s quite difficult to find them in Portugal. I can only buy MacBarens Scottish Mixture, Holland House, Borkum Riff, Amphora, Clan and Captain Black.
I was wondering if I could find some stores in Spain near the border so I can go there and buy a total of 1kg which the most someone can transport within the EU borders.

Thanks for advice. I will be a bit more careful in the future:
I’ve googled it before, but I was trying to get more of an inside look of some of those stores in ordeiro know which brands I might get there.
Can you please advise what would be the proper thread to post this question?

The thing is that when it passes through customs I’ll have to pay high taxes and probably it won’t compensate the amount of money spent.

From what I have been told from people in Spain the selection might be better but not comparable to most other places in the world. In a way I feel like the internet tobacco scene is a mixed blessing. I swear some smokers run from blend to blend in such a fury that they never really learn how to enjoy a blend properly and never really dig in. On the other hand I've smoked more must have blends since finding the internet.

MacBarrens is a brand that could hold me over if it's all I could get. Never tried Holland House. Which not sure what the law says where you are about getting people to send you tobacco. There is always value in having one rare brand you can trade for something that's common else where.

In the EU you cannot send tobacco except within the same country. Although they say it’s an economic common space that doesn’t apply to such products as tobacco or alcohol. The only thing allowed is to carry up to a kilo of tobacco with yourself! Damn bureaucrats!

Failing that, if you can get Mac Baren locally then have a go at their HH Latakia Flake and Balkan Blend, both are quite good. I don't smoke hardly as much English/Balkan blends like I used to but I buy Mac B Balkan in bulk for cellar, that with Early Morning Pipe are my two favorites.

Unfortunately due to EU restrictions on tobacco products and although Germany is inside the EU, tobacco cannot be shipped between EU countries, since in the case of this product and alcohol, each sovereign state tax policy works independently and I’m sure those products would be stopped at customs with a higher cost for me to retrieve them. I know cases of people who managed to order their tobacco online and had no problem at all but in the end it’s just a shot in the dark. Might go well or wrong…
Anyway, I’ve spoken with my local shop and they said that for certain brands they might help and import them if I order a certain quantity. Following this thought, I’m trying to gather some friends in order to do so and split the bill between us all.

it kind of has to be that way if they're going to include certain countries that insist on running state monopolies on tobacco. Not saying it's good bad or whatever just that it is what it is.
