I need to check and see if that's the same Mountain Man that I read many years ago, where the main character was named Jeremiah Johnson, like the movie of the same name.

I guess I'm misremembering...Wikipedia says the main character's name was Sam Minard...but the movie was, from the book. I'm going to reread this one. It was a very good read.

My local library system in St. Louis County, doesn't have a single copy these days...bummer, because I know that's where I got it from originally. But it was probably at least 25 years ago. So I bought the hardback from Amazon.

The movie was based on the book, loosely, the book was based on a real person, John "Liver Eating" Johnson, loosely as well.
