I have been following this for about a year now and I could not wait till it came out! But, I guess its not going to happen which is pretty sad. It would have been cool to have a modern day "hip" pipe documentary!

I talked to one of the producers at the Richmond show. Project is still a go. They are still shooting footage. It's just taking longer than expected because of funding (I suspect). But they are still trying to do it.

I agree it would have been a very cool documentary. Wish it would have made it! :puffpipe:

It's funny I spoke to them about crowd sourcing about 8 months ago and they said they were going to have a go sometime in the future possibly on kickstarter. So we'll have to keep an eye out for that if they decide to try and go that route again.

You'd think someone flush with cash would be interested in financing such a venture. I think there'd be a market for this film. And I say that not just because I smoke a pipe. I think this country is reaching a teetering point, not liking the future they see, and longing for the America that once was. Call it nostalgia or comfort food, but I think a celebration of pipe smoking is just want this country needs right now.

In retrospect, the pipe smoking community could have been more supportive. 1100 is pretty sad

I think they went to get general audience on that indegogo site - and that just won't work- there are not enough hipsterse who think its cool to fund this. You want funding for a pipe documentary - you gotta go to the source - the full-on pipe hobbyists. I suspect if the half-dozen or so pipe sites and magazines promoted them they'd get much closer to their funding goal.

At the time there wasn't much info known about that project and the people that did know didn't really know about them going up on indiegogo. I think if they went to crowd funding now and put up posts or adverts on all the big pipe forums they would get a lot more activity.

I'm pretty sure if we just complain loud enough and long enough Kevin will produce a pipe documentary of sorts in small, short, monthly segments.
:)
And after your done, BOOM. Blooper bonuses.
I'm a genius I know. 8)
