Pipe Of The Month Club

Being a new Piper I was wondering if there is such a thing as a Pipe of The Month Club where one could go to to find Special Deals on pipes.

When I looked at the title, I was thinking it would be a club where you get a new pipe sent to you automatically each month. That would be cool.

That's what I meant Kevin, at a price of course. Is there such a club? or better yet, how about all our members listing a pipe of the month that is For Sale. This way we can trust the person selling the pipe without worry.

There were a number of these clubs in the past, but I'm not aware of any now. Most were run by the larger tobacconists as a way to keep their regular customers more involved. Flanative mentioned Wally Frank, I think his Pipe of The Month Club was the largest and longest running. Edwards and The Tinder Box also had similar clubs and there were quite a few smaller ones. These shops all had pretty extensive lines of house pipes that were supplied by outside manufacturers and stamped with the shop's logo instead of the manufacturer's logo. Most of these were well-made pipes from the better pipe companies. Savinelli still does this for a lot of shops. Some are stamped with both names, some with just the shop name.

I have found about every of the month type club except pipes or even the tobacco. They even have an olive of the month club. For the love of all that is holy someone with the clout of the Gods please strongarm someone into making this happen. Well I am finished with my rant please have a good night.

I would partake in a pipe of the month club. It might get expensive but I think I could convince the wife to let me do it ;-)

I'd be more interested in a pipe tobacco-of-the-month club. Then I could try new and interesting blends...

The closest thing I can think of is to start a pipe pass every month. You must put a pipe back in the box if you take one out and the same pipes have to eventually be passed to each person. Just a thought idk if it would work. I suppose this is very different from a pipe of the month though.

I am not sure how many people would want to put a pipe that someone else has smoked in their mouths.

You eat at restaurants, don't you? Lotsa people put those forks in their mouths. As long as the pipe is cleaned, but then it becomes a lot of work.

Just pick one out each month and buy it. Since we all have our own tastes in what kind of pipes we like, it would be hard to do this.
Used pipes are very popular and sell as estate pipe. I buy hundreds of them all the time, restore them and resell them on eBay.
