Pipe Night

I always thought that this Seinfeld skit was hilarious- both the outtakes and edited version. Has anybody ever hosted a “pipe night”?

I am having a pipe night today ( And Every Friday and Saturday Night) I mostly smoke in my office, backyard or the back den, but on some weekends I will have a bowl or two in the living room.

I’ve always wondered what goes on at a pipe club meeting. Besides smoking, of course. ?‍
Or is the first rule of pipe club that you don’t talk about pipe club? ?
The closest ones to me that I know of are about 5 hours away, so I guess I’ll continue to be a club of one... very exclusive! ?

Didn't know it was about pipe smoking clubs. I stopped joining any social organization with more than one member. Internal politics just didn't agree with me (sooner or later.)

Same here. And I find it a little awkward to sit in a shop for an hour and a half with one or two complete strangers whilst having a cigar or pipe. ?‍

I was skeptical and a little hesitant about going to a pipe club meeting. I was wrong. It was very enjoyable. Met some interesting people, had cordial conversation, learned about pipe smoking technique, tobaccos i’d never heard of tried, met Jeremy Reeves, met Glassman (member here) and supported my local tobacconist.

I am no regular, I think I’ve been back twice in a year. Time, distance to shop, oh yeah COVID19, , and other Thursday night commitments. However, I recommend people try it if you enjoy pipes and tobacco and the “hobby” “lifestyle” “pipe lore” “knowledge” etc....

Same here, I'm like the only person I know of or have seen smoking a pipe in my town or anywhere nearby. Thankfully there is this, to talk about pipes, tobacco and whatnot. I guess living up to the times someone could start a Zoom pipe meeting! ?

Same, occasionally I will see an old codger looking guy in a old pickup truck with a pipe hanging out of his face while driving to work in the morning (pretty much a mirror image of myself)
The only other piper I’ve ever seen here in SE Georgia......kinda sad really

And the YouTube pipe community (YTPC), of course. It was the YTPC (especially Scott of aristocob.com) that drew me back to the pipe after an absence of many years.

There's no mystery to pipe clubs. Its what goes on everywhere a bunch of guys meet. Talk (bullshit if you will) about various topics, local sports team (if you have any), politics if that's your choice, etc. You can also have club sponsored activities, programs and the like. And for topics for these things don't have to always be pipe related. Just find someone who has something interesting to talk about and invite them to the meeting.

Area pipe club hasn't met in 6 months. Pipe show was canceled. Lounges are closed in my neck of the woods. This forum is my connection with the pipe world.

I think that's a great way to do it. You don't even have to leave the house .
