Our featured guest on tonight’s Pipes Magazine Radio Show is artisan pipe maker Patrick Kehler from Marchand, Manitoba Canada. He grew up in a strict religious environment where his behavior was restricted and smoking (and drinking) were frowned upon. One day, when he was older and in the process of providing himself more freedoms, a co-worker showed him a pipe. He was captivated. Hear the whole story on tonight’s show. I’ve honestly never thought of trying other pipe cleaners. I found the Brigham ones to be solid and just stayed with them. I probably should order some others and try them.

The story of what kept Patrick going in pipe carving was heart warming and inspirational. He’s doing some great Anglo-French shaping and some solid Danish shaping. Best of luck to him in his carving journey.

I was very happy there were so many collectors at the Vegas show this year. It was a treat to pick their brain as to how they got started in collecting, how their collecting evolved, and what keeps them collecting all these years later. The collector’s showcase was fantastic. I really enjoyed the collection of Peterson 999 squires and the really old Barlings. Dave’s wax drip Castello collection was a joy to look through.
