Can anyone tell me more about this pipe? I got it through an ebay Auktion here in Germany some years ago. Thanks.

My example is a freehand extra large straight, smooth Pot with a yellow lucite stem. I just love it.

Jack used absolutely primo briar.

It’s not much to look at but it’s a dynamite good smoker.

It has very large and the chamber is very deep. I have only smoked it once in about 15 years. Need to clean it up and get to smoking. I have never seen another one. Are they common?

Until yours mine was the only one I’d ever seen.

Jack is an artisan pipe maker.

He can’t make very many pipes himself but the two I’ve seen are excellent.

What impressed me was the high quality of the briar in mine. It’s not really fancy figured but it’s dense and light for the size and smokes like heaven.

Mine has only a matte finish which is good! A matte finish allows the briar to keep on aging after it leaves the shop.

Your pipe should have aged 15 more years and be a better smoker because of it.

Today I removed the little cake in bowl and gave the bowl the usual clean (15 year old Dalwhinnie and a bristle pipe cleaner. The Stempel was scrubbed and is now drying. Will fire it up before the weekend. Hope it smokes well. It was along time coming. Now to get my Ben Wade and Nording freehands cleaned.
