So let’s say the world is much different than it is, and professional pipe smokers can get endorsement deals with pipe companies. (Perhaps slow smokers already do this?) This would entail free pipes and various accoutrements.

Which (if any) company would you like to have your deal with?

I don’t know every high end carver or pipe company, so my choices are based on what I’ve seen. I’d love a Peterson endorsement. There are probably another 3-4 pipe makers I could easily mention, but overall I’d be very happy with a Peterson endorsement deal.

How about you?

I’d like lots of different tobaccos and pipes. But some YouTubers, especially the bigger ones do already get pipes and tobaccos and paraphernalia sent their way for review. That is sort of a sponsorship, and I bet you dang sure if you give them a bad review, diss their stuff, they stop sending it.

Which is why I almost never watch YouTube reviews of anything. There are a few tubers who don't accept bribes, , but they are few and far between for the things that I'm interested in.

Almost all the gun guys on youtube are paid shills. The reviews are pretty much useless.

For example, they all push Palmetto's AAC ammo, and that stuff is known to blow up sometimes.

Just shows you how few damns people actually give. Haha

I used to enjoy Officer Greg when he was still employed as a cop and couldn't take bribes (at least on YT). Once he retired, it was full shill ahead. I told him that his credibility just went from 100 to zero, and he pretty much said that he didn't give a shit.

It doesn't take any effor. Contact a pipe maker and commission a pipe. Keep on contact with them over the phone and make friends with them. I've been gifted many pipes both briar and meerschaum.

I've been contacted by various pipe and pipe tobacco companies asking me to shill for their products.

They wanted me to be a spokesman or sometimes a model, or come on here and defend their honor.

I told em' all no.

The Funk ain't for sale.
I'm in disbelief you turned down the modeling. Relieved, yes, but in disbelief also.

I live in the world of Heavy Industry. For anyone else, like me, whose venn diagram crosses pipe smoking and “industry” do yourself a favor and look up AVE on youtube. He is very outspoken about the corporate BS peddled our way in modern life and the relentless consumerism / engineered obsolesce. Love someone calling out BS for what it is…

Sorry back to the actual question: respect Briarworks as the local hero. But would gladly take some free Savs for being an italian puppet…er “influencer”.

This is a tough one for me. A large part of me thinks I'd like most to be endorsed by Nording. And then there's Peterson. Two very different, in most cases, styles of pipe, and I love them both. Nording has a functional artistry, which is also very masculine and quite rugged even in the high grade pipes. Peterson, while still quite masculine, has a classy style, but classy for the working man. Now, please nobody throw anything at me for being sexist. That's not my intention. It's only what I personally get from the style. Maybe I'm just weird. Maybe I just want to stand atop a tree I just felled next to the mountain elk I slew with a spear, guzzle a beer, and light fire to a pipe. And after an eagle lands on my shoulder to give me a respectful nod before flying off again, maybe I just want to adjust my loin cloth and shout aloud, "I'm a man, Damnit!" I honestly don't know where I'm going with this now.
