I am just now starting to build up a nice even layer of cake. Should I still clean the inside of my bowl? Odd question but since I would consider the cake in the beginning stages I don't want to destroy what I have accomplished. I have been running a pipe cleaner gently around the bowl after a couple if smokes.

I have to agree completely with Rothnh on his maintenance regimen.

I will add one element...

If you ream/screw a paper towel into the bowl; do so, when the pipe is warm.

This will facilitate the development of a smooth and thin cake which is, IMHO, is most desirable.

I use a doubled over pipe cleaner the day after I smoke to scrape any ash and tobacco out of my chamber. I find I get a nice hard even cake doing this.
