Pipe band markings

I recently picked up a bent whitehall pipe. It looks to be a peterson style pipe. While cleaning it up i noticed there were a few stamps in the band. I know whitehalls were made in Italy but I cant seem to find anything that match my marks. Can anyone help me out with this?

As was already said, oftentimes there's no meaning behind these things. This is one of my Dunhills... I'll never know what all these mean.

Hallmarks are only mandatory in Ireland (I don´t know if there are other countries that required them). The "925" states that the stamped material is Sterlingsilver (this is 925 parts out of 1000 are silver). I understand that there are marks that state the year of production as well which enable you to date your Pete.
And then there is a Italian Gigi in my collection that has fake hallmarks on a tin band. :roll:

English and Irish silver is hall marked and can be dated. American silver is usually stamped "sterling" or .925. Nickel bands often have marks to mimic silver to give a false sense of quality but don't mean anything. EP does indeed mean ElectroPlate and is a give away for nickel plate.

The old British silver banded pipes usually sell for a pretty penny because they can be dated so accurately.
