Newbie here.

Tried searching for pipe bag ideas on this forum, but no luck.

Does anyone have creative ideas for taking your pipe and baccy on the go?

I'd love to get a small section of animal hide and leather-thread it.

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Personally, I have a nice four pipe carrying bag with some frills. I've never given much thought about making one (I have no talent in that area). But there are some leather workers on this forum (at least one, I know) and I'm sure you can spin ideas with them.
I'd love to see a leather tobacco bag/single pipe holder in one with a middle section for a tamper. Padded of course. The pipe section would fold away, you remove the pipe and have easy access to the 'baccy. Between the two sections (where it folds) would be a great place to slide a tamper.

that's somewhat what I had imagined. Basically a dual fold design, with one side having one pocket for the baccy and the other side having two, one for a tamper and the other for a pipe. Perhaps there is a better way to hold the pipe than a pocket, though, due to the shape. I'll have to mull this one over next time i light up!

I use a roll-up baccy pouch, and my shirt pocket.

When I read the title I thought this was going to be a critique of some of the older pipe babe postings...

Whew! I'm relieved... :D

LOL Lawrence. Please don't tell me Betty White's renewed popularity is going to lead to her showing up as a pipe babe.

Socks my friends. Just use socks. One for each pipe and with so many different varieties the combinations are endless. Just a thought. Carry on.

This is what I use, I just love it. It holds my pipe, lighter & matches, paper towels, pipe cleaners, tamper, and tobacco in a sealed latex pouch.
Here's the link to it, it's the Mac Baren 2 pipe pouch:

$30 is pretty good for it, also the first one EA Carrey sent to me had cracked leather and a pouch that was not properly glued together, they sent another one free and told me to keep the other one for my trouble. I re-glued it and gave it to my best friend who at the time was just getting into pipes.

Hey Lost,

When I first started experimenting making pipe pouches, I looked up tons of places and really couldn't find what I was looking for. It sounds like you have something very specific in mind that kind of opens up like a book? I've seen old books with holes cut out of the pages to store things and I always wondered how that might work as a pipe case. Of course, you gotta' figure out how to make the hole inside the pages (I guess drill four holes and jig saw it out?--but that seems messy).
I would maybe look up photos of older bags on ebay (maybe military bags--or better yet, go to an army/navy surplus store to get ideas). My pipe pouches are based on an old roll up chisel pouch I have and I thought the same design would work well for pipes. You might want to think about other bags that are similar to what you want but not necessarily made for pipes.
I'd be glad to help you if you're looking to do it on your own, or, of course, I can make it for you. I've made some RYO style roll up tobacco pouches. Maybe something like that, but for pipes?
In any case, if you'd like some assistance, let me know.
