Peterson Spigot Rhodesian - Limited Edition Version?

Hello Everyone:
I was in my local B&M today and was asking about the Peterson pipes that he had in stock and he showed me a lovely Peterson Straight Rhodesian Spigot with fishtail mouthpiece and it was stamped Limited Edition 625/1000 on the side.
I was sorely tempted by it but refrained from purchasing because I was not familiar whether or not Peterson made such a model. I've looked through several sites to try to find it, and have found no mention of it. If anyone here knows about this model, could you please let me know?

It does sound nice. You should go back and ask if they minded that you photographed it. I would love to see it. If the stampings look authentic and you trust your B&M then I think it is what it is. Peterson has been in business many years and made lots of pipes but hard to tell anything without a pic.

I would go out on a limb and say yes. I dont see a big issue with counterfit pipes and if there is dont get me wrong Peterson is a good pipe and I love them I would say it would be like Dunhill and Davidhoff that would be more likeley to be knocked off. Thats just my thoughts on it.
