I received my annual St. Patrick's Day pipe. I gotta say, this green contrast sandblast is a nice touch this year. I was at first thinking, "ugh.... green again this year. Getting kind of old now...." but it is pretty cool looking. I threw in a few tins of Blend for Cary Grant, as well as a few tins of Drucquer & Sons Red Lion. I've never tried any of the D&S blends but have read good things. This year I was torn between another 106 or another XL90 so I didn't get either. Instead I finally added a 107 to my collection. My first 106 was, after all, because I settled for a 106 when I couldn't find a 107 I was looking for. I'm not yet certain what this pipes first smoke will be. Most of my Petes somehow become my aromatic or aromatic crossover pipes.

I was a bit bummed with the box though. Usually they come in a fancier pipe box with Saint Patrick's Day decoration. This year was just a typical green Peterson box :(

Congrats...that’s a beautiful pipe. I really enjoy the Peterson green. How does the new sandblast look?
Honestly I'm not much of a fan of sandblasts, preferring smooth, and have seen few blasts that I like. But this is pretty nice and all in all I'm happy with it. The Saint Patrick's Day pipes have become my yearly tradition since 2013. I can't let a pesky sandblast keep me from tradition.

I have a straight tapered billiard fetish. Each is its own tour de force. That's a fine example. I think the online page after page of green pipes doesn't do them justice. That seems to be a generous size bowl, and the band sets off the stain. May the wind be at your back.

Always nice when the pipe in hand is more pleasing than anticipated. I think more so if tradition is a motivator. Congratulations!
rotf There have been a few of these released over the last few years that I wasn't necessarily happy with and had to talk myself into purchasing for sake of tradition. But I've been pleasantly surprised each time anyway lol!
I'm not going to lie, though, I would like to see them return to a more typical stain color on next year's pipes perhaps with a green stem. And a standard stem fitting. The military mount they've been using for all their holiday pipes over the last few years is getting old.
