OK, I am about to give up.
The pipe I want to buy next is a large, black, rusitcated (not blasted) bent bulldog. The perfect example would have a contrasting smooth rim in a lighter finish.
A Peterson 80s in the Rock of Cashel finish would be an instant buy -- if I could just FIND one. (No contrasting rim, but hey, it's an imperfect world.)
I can't seem to confirm they ever even made the 80s in that finish (although they usually include an 80s in most finish lines).
So what have you guys got? Anyone know of one of these, or know if they exist. Got one you want to sell? Or another pipe that fits the bill?

Dug through all my boxes of pipes and found nothing. Searched all my oddball haunts online and found even less.

The closest I could find (after only looking in one place where I know they have some Rock of Cashels) was a shape 999, which basically means it's got a round shank instead of the square shank on 80s: http://www.alpascia.com/detail.asp?detail=18947
I imagine they should be possible to find since I found this Kapp Royal (basically Rock of Cashel with a smooth finish): http://www.alpascia.com/detail.asp?detail=19933
Btw, Rock of Cashel has blasted, not rusticated, finish.

Arthur, thanks.
Nemrod, thanks. That's interesting. Swore it was rusticated, but you sound definitive. Maybe that's just the effect of that blast with the black stain.

Do yourself a favour, Bookmark Alpascia, just for a laugh as they are one of the heavier priced Peterson eTailers,

then bookmark http://www.bollitopipe.it/pipes-peterson-c-10_49.html whom have a tremendous stock at rather better prices and their stock is constantly being upgraded, also add http://www.novelli.it/eng/pipes/testdiv2.asp?produttore=%20Peterson&modello=Super%20Russet&opdb=1 to the list.
If you are in Europe, or have no problem with ordering from the UK, then http://www.smoke-king.co.uk/acatalog/home-page.html are superb and offer a fabulous service, as do, http://www.mysmokingshop.co.uk/index2.php?mod=category&man=99&cat=67
I have nothing against Alpascia, but their prices are very high when one can acquire the same pipe elsewhere for considerably less. Novelli are possibly the quickest I have yet experienced, purchased a pipe online at 4pm and 36 hours later was smoking that pipe. :D

Allow me to retort:

bollitopipe.it has the same or higher prices on the models I checked.

novelli.it has 5-10 EUR cheaper on some models while others are priced the same.
I don't really see how you have come to the conclusion that Al Pascia somehow deserves a laugh for being pricey when the others are pretty much (or exactly) in the same range.
I might add that Al Pascia has excellent service as well, the package I got from them when I ordered was probably the best I have ever gotten in my whole life, it's was tremendously classy with their own printed wrapping paper and stationery and so on. Once I asked them if they didn't have any other examples of a certain model in stock that they hadn't put up on the site yet - he e-mailed me back on a Sunday with a complete set of pictures and measurements of the other one they had. Not saying the others aren't as good, but neither price nor service is anything you can possibly have any complaints about with Al Pascia.
If I'm not mistaken when I've tried ordering from mysmokingshop.co.uk before they've had ridiculous shipping along the lines of $20-25. Looking at it now they seem to have changed that (or I'm remembering a different store) so I'll add it to my list again I suppose. smoke-king.co.uk is the only one I didn't already know about, I'll have to take a closer look later.

No offense was intended or implied, but it is a fact that one can source Petersons at rather better prices than those suggested by AlPascia.
Smoke-King was originally "Greens of Leeds" if that helps.

None taken, I just questioned why you singled out Al Pascia when the alternatives you gave were no different. :)

One of them had a Rock of Cashel 80s in stock as well so either way it benefits the thread starter because he now has two stores to choose from :)

Nemrod thanks for looking out for me.
Won't be picking that one up as it's not quite what I'm looking for. But kind of you to make the note to me.

tslex, it sounds like you have a VERY particular idea in mind. Have you considered having one custom made? I know it will probably cost more than an off the shelf Peterson, but it's an opportunity to get EXACTLY what you want made specifically for you by an artisan carver. And though Peterson is a fine brand, the level of materials and craftsmanship would be a cut above.
Check out:

EJH (Eric Heberling)

Bob Oakley

Russ Cook

Old Nellie (Joe Nelson)

Mark Balkovec

Kirk Bosi

Boswell

Mark Tinsky

Tim West

just to name a few.
Just a suggestion.

I'm not all THAT particular.
I want a rusticated or maybe blasted all black bent bulldog. Pete would be swell, but I'm not married to it. The one posted is an army mount with an amber bit -- not an army mount fan, not a colored bit fan.
But I do appreciate very much the link.
I'm afraid a bespoke artisan pipe would be beyond my price range, lovely as it might be.
