i just received this beautiful peterson lighter..having problem with filling it with butane
i try to punch the butane fuel tip with the valve on the lighter..problem is it does not go all the way and it squirts out all fuel..theres a screw there on the valve on the lighter..once i took it apart i was able to punch in the tip of the butane fuel with the valve and no problems? can someone tell me if i need a different slim butane fuel tip accessory? i have three butanes, xikar, nibo and ronson..the tip of all 3 doesnt fit..what am i doing wrong?

I have an "el cheapo" knockoff of an Old Boy that I definitely got my $20 worth in the year I've had it. The filling valve readily accepts a standard butane can.

My Dunhill Rollagas, on the other hand, has to have the Dunhill butane with the adaptor on the can. I've tried swapping the adaptor from the Dunhill can to other cans, and it doesn't work as well.
Now, rishimak, if your lighter squirts butane from the valve when pressing on it, there's no need to fill it. Generally I've learned it's not a good idea to "top off" a lighter ....
