A pipe smoking friend recently obtained the following Peterson. I believe it to be one of their entry level pipes and I was hoping one of you Pete aficionados could SWAG an age for him.

K Briar is stamped along the barrel and you can see the white "K" on the mouthpiece

This reads "A Peterson Product - Made in the Republic - of Ireland. And you can also see the X105 stamp. (Does the X make it a reject? I can find no fills on this burner.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes K-Briar is a discontinued entry level pipe. Dates to 60-70s as far as I know.

If I remember correctly X is given to the unorthodox specimen among the normal shapes such as slightly bigger ones or variations.

I mean X105 is a different take on 106. I am really not sure what the difference is, I have not seen them but pictures look exactly the same.

I am aware that it is a shape number. 106 is also a very similar shape.
This is a 106
