Unfortunately I think these lighters might be disposable but after you purge it put it in the freezer for awhile and warm the gas under your arm. Lighters can be frustrating and expensive to deal with. I collect them. Some are repairable and most are not.

Thanks. We have taken one step forward and I now get a sensible flame. No regulator though. Proper flame but I can’t control increase or decrease. Could it be the small o ring?

Update: Bleeding helps. It now starts like a flame thrower each time. Burns out quickly. No flame control. Takes tiny amount of fuel to blast out flame. Still not found o ring.

What does the o ring do?
