I'm considering purchasing a Peterson Aran 120 (Dublin) or a Peterson Aran 06 (straight billiard) but I was wondering if anyone owns either or both of these pipes and they could me a few specifics on them such as length, chamber depth, and overall feel. I've looked at smokingpipes.com but they have different specs for the same pipe so it's hard to grasp the reality of the pipe. I'm sure that everyone's experience is different as well but I'd rather hear it from someone who owns one rather than the salesperson.
Thanks!

Lordofthepiprings has got it there. I always use smokingpipes.com for their detailed pipe specs. The Aran line are some good looking pipes too.

Take a look at Milan Tobacconists web site. They have good deals on Aran pipes

and free shipping on $75 purchase. They also show the pipes on a grid to compare size.

reichenbach, you look a lot like Tom Crean :)

This photo has a 106 on bottom right, a Tinsky group 4 bottom left and a Ser Jacopo on top. All in all, I'd call it "normal" size.

I just received a Peterson Aran #120 from smokingpipes.com. I was pretty amazed at how substandard the finish on the briar was, it looked like a Chinese knock-off! It had a single, thin, unevenly applied purple-bruise tint stain and a lackluster varnish and it really is the tackiest looking finish I have ever seen. I wish I had sent it back but I smoked it and now I will refinish it. Refinish a new Peterson pipe. Who ever heard of such a thing!

The 120 is a classic shape and the bowl is a good size, but I have lost a lot of respect for the firm sending this thing out. Very overpriced. Should be around $50 tops, but you can pay $75 to $150 for the bleeding thing.

Yes, the newer Pete Arans have a lighter shade of stain. Would you rather have shellacked to a shine that wears off? The shine comes from waxing and/or oiling the bowl. Still, the pattern of the light/dark stain is pretty cool, and the whole thing will darken with use.
Now, for the OP. Arans have a smooth finish and the colour is as pictured in the links that lordofthepiperings posted. SP is good at putting the specs on their site. I only own bent Arans so I couldn't tell you more.
