2015 was my quest to complete a seven day set of chubby pipes. Since most were Peterson pipes, I decided 2016 would be a quest to complete a seven day set of Peterson chubby pipes. Today I received a Peterson 505, a shape I was unaware of till a few days ago. While not as thick as the pre-republic 999 or 9BC the 505's shank is equal to the xl999 and the xl02. I am in search of a higher grade xl90 with a tapered stem and no silver/gold banding. Any suggestions for another Peterson chubby to complete the 7?
Here is the 505 with friends:

SS...I believe the 505 and the xl999 stopped production in the early 90s. The 505 has a Silver Spigot version as well. I had also seen that supreme version pictured which is just stunning. I also prefer a taper but the saddle on that supreme works for me. The 505 like the xl999, as far as I can tell, are no longer available.

I was watching a silver-spigot 505 that ended last night. I got tied up and missed the bid, it went for $85 I believe. It had one of those "Wellington" style stems, which I don't care for. But at less than $100, I could have had George D do a nice stem for it.
