Gents (and smoking ladies, so to speak), I'm off to Italy late in the summer to spend a month working in Tuscany. Pesaro is but two hours from where I will be and I thought a trip would be in order. Here's the catch: while I can find the names of pipe makers from Pesaro, and even addresses, I can't seem to figure out how to visit. Several of the makers I could find don't have websites. When I go on google maps I see the locations; from street view it is not at all clear that what I see is a factory, or even a workshop. All looks residential. Anyone visited Pesaro and done some visits/tours? Thanks for any suggestions.

If Radice is located there I'd suggest looking him up, otherwise just stick a pipe in your mouth and start knocking on doors. What's the worst that could happen? :)

I would recommend reaching out the Luca at Neatpipes.com who has an established relationship with many of the pipemakers since he distributes their pipes.

Thanks for the suggestions. Have you visited a studio before? Just wondering about etiquette. I'd like to visit a studio workshop but, whew, I don't want to feel pressured into buying a $700 pipe! Is there an expectation that a visitor will make a purchase?

So, no one on the forum has been to Pesaro and visited the Maestro de Paja factory? They replied to an email and said I could come for a visit and I could even buy a pipe from the factory. Well, if the trip happens I'll post about it and some pics.
