I just returned from an afternoon at a cigar lounge, and I thought I would look up what I indulged in in the search engine here to see what fellow pipe smokers have had to say about it. Either no one has tried it yet, or I am not using our search engine successfully, because I could not find anything about this. So, I thought I would describe my thoughts a bit:

I had the pleasure today of trying a Perdomo Habano cigar. As I am not particularly knowledgeable about cigars, I was not sure what I would find.

Overall, it was greatly enjoyable. The first 1/2 inch or so seemed a bit harsh and heavily peppery, so I was a bit concerned I may have selected something not pleasing for my palate.

However, after that initial 1/2 inch, the cigar became much smoother, richer, and very pleasant. The flavor was mild at this stage….. very pleasant, hefty tobacco flavor, with what seemed almost “coffee”-like tones as well.

But, with the final third…… the cigar became quite amazingly flavorful. As would be expected, the nicotine level increased (pleasantly), but it also had an even broader array of flavors….. the tobacco flavor became really nice with a sweetness to it. It also had flavors of coffee, flavors of bourbon as well, and even a hint of “berries” (?!?) that was extremely nice.

That last third was so pleasant, I indulged smoking it damn near down to the nub, and was a bit nervous I was getting the ember too close to my mustache and beard for comfort. 😂 But, it really was that enjoyable.

I would gladly get another one of these cigars.

I’ve not smoked any Perdomo sticks, they do have a name in the cigar world.

When you mentioned Bourbon, there is the Habano Bourbon Barrel Aged brand.

Here you go, many different Perdomo sticks to choose from. :)

Here’s some Bourbon ones.
