Our featured interview on The Pipes Magazine Radio Show tonight is with Per George Jensen. Most pipe enthusiasts know that Per is the longtime Mac Baren Tobacco Company spokesman. Mac Baren has a long and interesting history that goes back to the year 1887. It has been privately, family owned ever since. We'll cover their interesting history and sadly, Henrik Halberg, the fourth generation owner recently passed, so we'll reminisce on him as well. At the top of the show, for our Pipe Parts segment, Brian will have a Rattray's Marlin Flake tobacco review using the current production from Germany.

Somewhat surprised at the criticism of Marlin Flake. It's a top 5 current production tobacco for me. I love the effect the cavendish has on the dark stoved virginias. I find it wonderfully smooth smoking with a round sweetness and a touch of funky barnyard that I find irresistible.

I wonder why MB releases things like Rustica and Vanilla Roll Cake and yet can’t produce a Virginia Perique flake.
