That's a significant inventory. What are KIKO pipes? A retailer with an established distribution

and customer base might take a look at these ... in person ... every last one. To buy them in

this quantity, sight unseen, seems really naive to me. They may be wonderful. Trust but verify.

KIKO are pipes made from African Meerschaum. I believe they are no longer made as the supply of African Meerschaum has been basically used up. I really wish this guy would separate some. I really want a KIKO pipe, but when I find an estate they are usually in horrible condition. I would love to have a couple pristine ones in my rotation.

African meer is hard to acquire because the countries it is found in are often in the midst of civil unrest. Hence we don't see many fresh pipes coming from Africa.

I didn't see a reserve on the auction. Provided Peck got it at the opening bid, that is like $13.50 a pipe...
If I had the $$ I would be tempted to get it and parcel it out on here and ebay.

It would be a great idea if we were less dispersed. Without us able to meet to divvy up the pipes I can see us getting into huge brawls over the bent upsidedown one with the leather bamboo widget and the whole thing devolving into a donnybrook.

LOL, I adon't even like smoking meers. I am curious though, how does the African meerschaum compare with Turkish meerschaum? I did a quick google search and a piped article suggested that some thing the African variety is inferior to that of Turkey.

African meer is not as good as Turkish, but they aren't baaad either. There are tons of really cool shaped pipes in there.
Also, as mentioned earlier African meer is all but extinct, making it kinda collectible.
I was just messing around, obviously, but you are the only one on here I am aware of that is even in range of the fun post.
