Pear Wood Mr. Brog

Hello everyone, I'm considering to buy another pipe and this is what I found. Why is it so cheap and what are your thoughts about pear wood pipes?

My first pipe was a Mr. Brog, and it is a really good smoke, Im not sure about the difference between the woods, but i was pleased with the Mr. brog for the price. Its a good buy.

I had (traded it to my son) an Old Army and it smoked really well. It came with an ugly color but I customized it: Sande it to actually sit, fixed the windcap and mis-placed nail holes, bent the stem a bit more, and stained it black, with a bit if grain showing. It came out real nice and I was very pleased with his it smoked but it was a tad small, thus the trade.

Thanks, all I want to know if the taste differs when the pipe is made of other material.

Pear wood pipes... I wouldn't call them "cheap" per se', but inexpensive.

I may be wrong but, pear (as a pipe making material) is less expensive than briar and far easier to cure and carve.

I don't own one, but there are more than a few Members that do, and I don't recall any complaints with them.

Have 5 of Mr Brogs offers and they are all great. You really can't go wrong mate.

I have 7 now, and they are all fantastic. For the money Mr. Brog can not be beat.

Mr. Brog is a member, I've seen his recent post. And he has a few of his pipes on ebay, buy it now pricing and bid away price. Prices seem very fair and I'm considering one for myself. I'm glad to see other members enjoy his pipes.
